Synopsis

Leadership Development is getting a bad name. Many organizations that have invested in leadership programs are realizing that their people are not becoming better leaders even after attending many of them. Part of the reason lies in unrealistic expectations. After all, it takes more than spending a few days in a workshop to become a better leader. However, the failure of many leadership programs can also be attributed to the way that they are designed. Too often, these programs try too hard to teach participants leadership. We believe that most leaders do not need to be given lectures on the topic. Indeed, they have attended enough training programs to know what good leadership is all about. The problem is that many of them are not acting like good leaders in spite of all the training that they are getting.

So how can we help leaders bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it? In this session, we will describe some practical strategies that that you can adopt to develop leaders in your oganization.  We will also discuss how some of the ideas from John C. Maxwell’s bestselling book The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth provide valuable lessons for those of us trying to grow leaders.

The session will be led by our Managing Consultant Lim Poh Guan, a Founding Partner of the John Maxwell Team. Join us in what promises to be an interactive and practical session where HR, Talent Management and OD practitioners come together to share ideas.
